Family Play 365

How much physical activity does your family get each day?

If you are like most American families, the answer will be – not enough!

Obesity in the United States has reached epidemic proportions. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 72 million US adults are now obese and 1 in 3 children are overweight or obese.

Obesity is the number two leading cause of preventable death in the Unites States. Being overweight or obese reduces your quality of life and increases your risk for chronic health conditions and diseases such as coronary heart disease, high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, sleep apnea, joint problems, and certain cancers.

Scary fact: Thirty years ago, type 2 diabetes was once so rare in children that it was known as adult onset diabetes. Now more and more children are being diagnosed with this chronic disease that is closely related to being overweight or obese.

As a nation, Americans have become extremely unhealthy due to the poor lifestyle choices that are made on a daily basis. One of the first steps you can take toward living a healthier lifestyle, and increased quality of life, is to increase the amount of physical activity you get each day.

Our team here at eFitFamily has created ‘Family Play 365’ to encourage and challenge parents to spend just 30 minutes, each and every day, playing with your children. I know that as a parent you are busy, but we all have 1,440 minutes in each day. Take just 30 minutes and play together as a family. Enjoy your time together and have fun. If you have dogs – let them play too. They always love to be included!

eFitFamily is dedicated to helping you and your family live a healthier, more functional life. Let us know how you spent your 30 minutes playing together as a family.

We want to hear from you!

How did you play as a family today?
